Multicultural creative organization Stellar Collective partnered with New York Times to create a series of events that bring to light and encourage diversity within the Latino community, emphasizing industries such as technology, advertising and media. The series kicked off with the July 9th event held at New York Times headquarters. The second annual Festival Afro-Latino NYC drew crowds to Parkside Avenue in Brooklyn on Saturday. Beginning at noon, the festival showcased the diversity among Afro-Latinos through performances from groups like Omulu Capoeira Brooklyn, music and delicious eats (bacalaítos, a variety of empanadas y más).
